Why did financial statements of governmental entities not show the mess that most entities are in prior to the last few years. Bankruptcy is a condition where the equity of the entity has a negative balance. If cities, counties, states or country are bankrupt are the financial statements showing that condition? Why or why not?

Government does not have to comply to GAAP standards. Government books are rarely actually audited by an unbiased accounting/audit firm.

Look, even the police dog of the agencies, the SEC gave their blessing to Madoff and to Endron it was only after the market tanked on both of those firms did the SEC wake up.

I am writing a paper and I have to have the mission statement quoted in it, and I cannot find it anywhere on the museum’s website.

Presumably there is a "Contact Us" link on the website. Ask them. Last time I heard, there were still human beings working there who could actually answer questions from the public.

I am about to apply for a Master’s in Higher Ed at FIU and they want a personal statement. They said it was supposed to be about myself and why I want to apply for the Master’s. I am not sure though if they want a certain format like APA format and I haven’t gotten an answer yet. I need to make one today because graduate assistantship positions are going to come up soon and I NEED to apply for those.

How important is the personal statement compared to plain grades? If the course requires 300 UCAS points and I have like 360 points would it still be possible for me not to get in? Also I am not applying to top unis but more average ones like Plymouth for example. Thanks in advance.

The personal statement is often the deciding factor between applicants with similar grades.

It might be if your personal statement is poorly written or that you have not demonstrated enough interest in the course.

It has come to my attention that I write my statement in the passive voice all to often. I would to know how to convert such statement to the active voice. I only took the require English classes in college, therefore I am a novice when comes to diction. Here is an example of one my statements written in the passive voice:

Society is predicated on peace.

Not having seen any other examples of your written work, I cannot comment on whether or not you use passive voice too frequently. However, the particular example you listed is far better in passive voice than any active voice version.

"not participating readily or actively." The word ‘passive’ in grammar refers to the subject of a sentence, and the meaning is "being the object of action rather than causing action.’

I am writing my Personal statement and want to apply for different courses; Science Foundation Year and Accounting. I know that i can completely ignore one course and write about the other in the personal statement (with Science being the one i will apply for most uni’s), but how can i relate the two together??

It’s really hard to do this. I wanted to apply for ancient and medieval history and also some sort of biology course. I love both subjects but in the end settled for biology. If you have relevant experiences and skills that can link both subjects then you should be ok.

how can i use a where statement after an innerjoin for example

and add a "WHERE" after the above statement like this

but it doesnt work T_T anyoen help me pls

It doesn’t work because the reference to "category_id" in your WHERE clause is ambiguous. You need to specify which table it’s coming from, because both have a column with that name. For instance:

SELECT item.*
FROM item
INNER JOIN category ON item.category_id = category.category_id
WHERE item.category_id = ‘textbox1.text’

You’re also going to need to put quotes around the value of textbox1.text.
