Do christians vote their conscience or their wallet? what does the statement below mean to you?
When a candidate regards the unborn child as unworthy of the defense of law, then he or she asks us to join them in ignoring the lessons of history by which African Americans in this country were once regarded as non-persons; or the Jews of Europe were once marked for genocide or racial purification. Had we known, would we have supported the "choice" to enslave or destroy these brothers and sisters of ours?
I vote my conscience and not my wallet. I am pro-life and firmly believe there is no excuse or justification for genocide. I, as a human being am ashamed of what the human race is capable of doing to each other. I met a woman who survived Rwanda. The scarring on her body from the machete attack was beyond our vocabulary. I seen her as a testament to what a human being could survive and also as a testament to the carnage human beings can inflict on each other. I thank God for the fact that I live in a safe community and the only inconvenience at night is the bray of the donkey. AMEN!!

Freedom of choice, as it pertains to abortion, is just a nice way of saying you have no respect for the dignity of human life.

I heard christians on this forum saying that they didnt believe in socialised medicine, that means that poor people die basically and how is that in anyway christian? They think being a christian means having an RV with a pro life sticker on it.

I vote my beliefs or my Conscience, if you are not willing to sacrifice for your beliefs you believe in nothing.

At Saddleback Church, Obama said decisions about when life begins are beyond his pay grade. Probably reading a high-school biology textbook is beyond his pay grade, too. We all know that life begins when a sperm cell joins an egg cell, creating a new person with a unique genetic fingerprint.
With such rhetoric, Obama hides his true conviction that life is only for the powerful. He supports partial-birth abortion and abandonment of babies who survive abortion.
As your statement suggests, writing off the right to life has consequences for all of us. If someone can lose his right to life because he is inconvenient or unwanted, it is an easy next step to include other groups as unworthy of life, as the genocide in 19th century Europe demonstrates.
Christians can vote for their conscience AND for their wallets. For their conscience, they can protect the next victims of abortion, euthanasia, or ethnic cleansing and save the family from a reinvented marriage. For their wallets, they can vote to keep taxes low and to let businesses stay in business.
Cheers,
Bruce
