Billing Statement

Minister Douglas Devananda has stressed that the destruction of the LTTE leader, who is marginalised locally and internationally, is not very far. He was making a special statement in parliament today (29 Nov 2007). Members of the government group and the JVP applauded the Minister when he rose up to make the statement.
Prabakharan who claims he will liberate the Tamil civilians, had killed many Tamil democratic leaders. Did this bring liberation to the Tamils? He said he cannot be intimidated by Prabakharan’s threats. He was dedicated for the democracy of the Tamils. He will not flee giving up democracy in fear of a ruthless tiger. Mr. Devananda said he will not permit the destruction of the democratic rights of the Tamil civilians. Truth cannot be defeated. Prabakharan will not succeed in his low-grade brutalism.
Prabakharan has brought disaster to the entire nation on behalf of the happiness of an individual. It was the LTTE leader, who built monuments of 17,857 Tamil young men and women. But he had put up palaces for his children providing them education in other countries. The Minister queried whether this was Prabakharan’s liberation. He said he was aware that there are certain agents who appear on behalf of Prabakharan in parliament. He told them to inform Prabakharan that he is not afraid of tigers, who consume human flesh, hiding in bunkers.
Prabakharan, by attempting to attack him in the morning and also targeting innocent civilians at Nugegoda, had proved that his tradition is to consumer human flesh. Prabakharan is not a friend of the Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim communities, India and the international community.
He is pleading to the international community to save him. But the international community is clearly aware of him. Prabakharan is averse to peace. It is Prabakharan who is responsible for the troops and civilians, who gave up their life on behalf of the battle for three decades. He said he was commemorating the civilians who were caught up by Prabakharan’s brutalism and sacrificed their lives and also injured in the Nugegoda attack. He also said he was commemorating the Northern civilians, who are dying daily because of Prabakharan. Minister Devananda urged the members of the legislature to join in ending LTTE leader’s brutalism.
