How long should a thesis statement be for a research paper?

I have a research paper due. I do not believe that there is a limit to the amount of pages. But I do just need to know how long the thesis statement should be. Thanks in advance.
Well, the thesis statement is usually really ONE sentence, but if you add sentences and modifying details in a few sentences following it, that’s okay, too. But if you were ever told to circle the thesis statement, it would always be the one with the main idea of the whole paper.

Your thesis statement should be short. One sentence is actually best. Then the rest of the paper is supposed to help support that one small statement. Good luck on your paper.
